Local Member of Parliament, Robert Halfon, has celebrated local groups after a busy day out and about in Harlow, visiting school children, sports groups and constituents.
After a busy MP’s surgery, Mr Halfon’s first visit was to Tye Green Outdoor Bowls Club, to meet with some of the club members and to see their clubhouse with Treasurer, Sarah Blackman.
Following UK Parliament Week, Robert was delighted to welcome Tany’s Dell Primary School to Parliament for a tour. He was invited in return to speak to the students about how they can become MPs and to see their remarkable Big Ben sculptures!
Commenting on the day, Mr Halfon said: “I am proud to call Harlow my home and love being out and about, meeting local people and finding out what matters the most to you. It was great to start my day meeting constituents, before two excellent visits.
“Tye Green Outdoor Bowls Club is a true hidden gem, and it was wonderful to meet some of their 93 members and to see their clubhouse. I really enjoyed speaking to them about the decades of history in the club and how important it is in the community. There is a warm welcome waiting for anybody who is interested in joining them.
“It was wonderful to return to Tany’s Dell School again to speak to the students about Parliament and how they can become MPs. They have recently made some incredible Big Ben sculptures to celebrate UK Parliament Week, and I was pleased to gift the students a copy of my favourite book, ‘The Hobbit’ by J.R.R Tolkien for their school library.”
